The International Sahrawi Coalition for National Unity organised the Forum of Moroccan Sahara Tribes on 7 and 8 December 2024, in the commune of Ouled Mtaa in the Al Haouz province, under the slogan: "The unity of the Sahara tribes is a fundamental pillar of the Moroccan Sahara". This forum comes within the framework of celebrating the 49th anniversary of the glorious Green March and the 69th anniversary of the glorious Independence Day.
The forum was attended by the Governor of Al Haouz province and a number of actors and interested parties, and aimed to highlight the intangible and cultural heritage of the Ouled Mtaa region, and the historical and cultural ties that unite it with the Moroccan Sahrawi tribes. The forum programme also included a group of activities that reflect support for royal efforts aimed at promoting comprehensive development in the southern provinces of the Kingdom.
The forum included a seminar on the Moroccan Sahara issue, which focused on the diplomatic momentum achieved by the Kingdom thanks to the strategic vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him. It also included performances in the art of traditional equestrianism, Hassani musical segments reflecting the ancient cultural heritage of the Moroccan Sahara, and an exhibition of traditional crafts from the Al Haouz and Marrakech regions, in addition to pavilions dedicated to Sahrawi traditional crafts.
The organisers' statement indicated that the forum was an opportunity to consolidate the cultural, spiritual, and historical ties between the Moroccan Sahara tribes and the glorious Alaouite Throne. It also embodied the role of parallel diplomacy in defending territorial integrity and celebrating the successes achieved by the Moroccan Sahara issue at the international level.
At the conclusion of the forum, a statement was submitted to national and international organisations, the United Nations, and the Human Rights Council in Geneva, demanding the lifting of the siege on our brothers in the Tindouf camps in Algeria. A telegram of loyalty and sincerity was also read, addressed to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist and support him, confirming the attachment of the Moroccan Sahara tribes to the glorious Alaouite Throne and their continuous support for national unity.
