The Public Prosecution at the Court of First Instance in Marrakech ordered on Monday evening the referral of the activist and head of the Al Haouz earthquake victims coordination committee, Said Ait Mehdi, in a state of arrest, to the L'oudaya local prison in Marrakech.
The King's Prosecutor decided to prosecute the concerned person in a state of arrest on charges mainly related to insults, defamation, and slander against public officials, following three complaints filed by the governor of the Al Haouz province, the local caid, and an auxiliary agent.
The activist Said Ait Mehdi was arrested yesterday, Sunday, by elements of the Royal Gendarmerie, and referred to police custody until he was presented before the Public Prosecution on Monday evening.
