The Minister of Health, El Hossein El Ouardi, presided last Monday over the official installation ceremony of a multidisciplinary mobile hospital in the locality of Zat, falling under the rural commune of Tighdiouine, in the Al Haouz province. The setting up of this field hospital is in line with the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to help the populations of isolated regions affected by the recent floods and snowfall. According to provincial authorities, this structure is expected to benefit some 260,000 people from the various rural communes of the province, particularly those in isolated areas experiencing difficulties in accessing healthcare.
With a capacity of 33 beds, the said hospital is equipped with modern equipment and brings together several units dedicated, among other things, to intensive care, childbirth, and consultations, in addition to a surgery complex and a resuscitation room. Also, the hospital provides care and services in more than a dozen medical specialities, notably in gastroenterology, pulmonology, cardiology, dermatology, diabetology, rheumatology, gynaecology, paediatrics, general surgery, urology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, and dentistry.
The Al Haouz province was heavily affected by the bad weather at the end of last year. Since then, several medical caravans have travelled through the communes and Douars of the mountainous areas of the province.
The installation ceremony of the mobile hospital took place in the presence of the governor of the province, Younès El-Bathaoui, the president of the Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz regional council, Ahmed Touizi, the president of the provincial council, and the province's parliamentarians.
