An awareness and education day on diabetes and nutritional diseases will be organised this Saturday in Tahanaout (Al Haouz province) for the benefit of diabetics and the general public.

Initiated by the Moroccan League for the Fight Against Diabetes (LMLD), this day is part of the LMLD's activities aimed at helping remote regions of the Kingdom benefit from education and awareness efforts regarding diabetes and nutritional diseases for the public in general and diabetics in particular.

Organised with the support and collaboration of the Tahanaout Municipal Council, the Regional Delegation of the Ministry of Health, the Provincial Delegation of Tahanaout, and the endocrinology department of the Mohammed VI University Hospital in Marrakech, this education and awareness day aims to contribute to the national effort to fight diabetes.

The programme for the day includes meetings under the themes: "Practical advice for diabetics", "Ramadan and fasting for diabetics", and "Diabetic nutrition", led by specialised doctors, in addition to the screening of a film about diabetes.

A diabetes screening campaign is also planned for all those who wish to take advantage of it.
