Dismantling of a drug trafficking network

Tarfaya, this small town that emerged from the dunes, has suddenly become a stronghold for drug traffickers.

The judicial police services of Laâyoune have succeeded in dismantling networks in recent days. Thus, the PJ of Laâyoune, in collaboration with the Royal Gendarmerie services in Tarfaya, succeeded in arresting 8 individuals constituting a network, on the one hand, and a man working alone, on the other. The former were in possession of a tonne and a half of chira, while the lone individual held a significant quantity of psychotropic drugs imported from Algeria. Married and a father of three children, after being heard by the Laâyoune court, the trafficker was sentenced to three years in prison. Regarding the group of 8, they are being questioned before being referred to justice.
