The Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region plans to strengthen its air quality monitoring system through two agreements representing a total investment of 17 million dirhams.
A first programme, endowed with 6 million dirhams, will allow for the establishment of a regional inventory of polluting emissions, the identification of their main sources, and the creation of a georeferenced database intended in particular for the modelling and forecasting of air quality.
The second, mobilising 11 million dirhams, provides for the acquisition and installation of new measurement stations to expand the regional network.
The data collected will be used to produce periodic reports, guide prevention and emission reduction actions, and better take into account their potential health impacts. The system is part of the National Air Quality Improvement Programme 2020-2030.
