High Royal Instructions to the participants to produce and present to H.M. the King within one month a comprehensive reflection on the strategy to enable greater synergy between the various stakeholders concerned
His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, chaired a working session on Tuesday at the Royal Palace in Tangier devoted to the energy sector and in particular to the national programme for the development of renewable energies, indicates a statement from the Royal Cabinet.
During this meeting, His Majesty the King was informed of the progress of renewable energy development programmes, particularly solar and wind energy, the statement highlights.
On this occasion, the Sovereign was also informed of the overall situation of the National Office of Electricity and Potable Water and the various challenges of the sector, the statement adds.
At the end of this working session, the Sovereign gave His High instructions to the participants to produce and present to His Majesty the King, may God assist Him, within a period of one month, a comprehensive reflection on the strategy to enable greater synergy between the various stakeholders concerned, the statement continues.
This reflection should also aim to define the means to raise the objectives for renewable energy production, within the framework of a new, stronger, and sustainable ambition of the Kingdom in this area, the statement concludes.
This working session took place in the presence of the Head of Government, Mr. Abdelilah Benkirane, the Advisors to H.M. the King, Mrs. Zoulikha Nasri, and Messrs. Fouad Ali El Himma and Yassir Znagui, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Mohamed Boussaid, the Minister of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment, Mr. Abdelkader Aamara, the Director of the National Office of Electricity and Potable Water, Mr. Ali Fassi Fihri, the Director of the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mrs. Amina Benkhadra, and the Chairman of the Board of the Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy (MASEN), Mr. Mustapha Bakkoury.
