The regional directorate of Agriculture of Chaouia-Ouardigha has allocated a budget of 10 million DH for the livestock safeguard operation for the year 2012, it is indicated in a report.
The first tranche of the operation saw the distribution of 165,000 quintals of barley and 45,045 quintals of subsidised compound feed, for the benefit of 99,090 breeders.
The report highlights that the quantity reserved for the Settat province is around 65,000 quintals for barley and 39,360 quintals of compound feed, the Khouribga province 65,000 quintals of barley and 22,195 quintals of compound feed, Berrechid (5,000 quintals of barley and 10,450 quintals of compound feed), and Benslimane (10,000 quintals of barley and 12,400 quintals of compound feed).
The second tranche of this operation provides for the distribution of 20,000 quintals of barley for the provinces of Khouribga and El Borouj and 60,000 quintals of compound feed for the whole region, the report adds, specifying that the barley distribution operation of this second tranche has reached 24.37% in the city of El Borouj and 89.1% for the Khouribga province.
