The Autonomous Water and Electricity Distribution Authority of Chaouia (RADEEC) recently held its board of directors meeting. The examination of the 2015-2019 multi-year action plan, with a total amount of 752 million dirhams, as well as the approval of the RADEEC budget for the year 2015 were on the agenda of this meeting.
Abdelhaq Dirhoussi, director of the RADEEC, presented the master plans for drinking water and sanitation for the city of Settat and certain centres that are experiencing significant urban and industrial development. Regarding investment projects, the launch of which is planned for 2015, the director of the authority stressed that a budget of 242 million dirhams has been allocated to this component, of which the payment envelope during the current financial year is 128 million dirhams.
These investments will focus on the rehabilitation and requalification of the sanitation network in disadvantaged neighbourhoods, the construction of wastewater collection and treatment works and the extension of wastewater treatment plants (STEP) at the level of the Soualem-Lakhyayta and Guisser communes, or even the extension and reinforcement of liquid sanitation networks.
