Oulmès (ولماس) is a town in Morocco. This rural commune, with a population of 19,014 (2004 census), is located in the Middle Atlas.
The Oulmès region is renowned for its mineral waters, its fruits (apples, pears, peaches, cherries, etc.), and its ancient oak trees.
A local breed of sheep and a breed of cattle (threatened with extinction) bear the same name as Oulmès. The Oulmès ecosystem is also threatened by erosion, overgrazing, deforestation, cereal monoculture, the excessive use of fertilisers and pesticides, as well as uncontrolled exploitation of groundwater for purely commercial purposes.
The Société des eaux minérales d’Oulmès bottles the most famous natural sparkling mineral water in Morocco, "l'Oulmès".
The mountainous region is endowed with high plateaus.
