More than 164,000 arrivals in Ouarzazate during the 1st semester of 2014

French tourists come first with 39,577 arrivals, thus recording an increase of 2% compared to the same period of the previous year.
More than 164,000 arrivals in Ouarzazate during the 1st semester of 2014

Some 164,250 tourists stayed during the first semester of 2014 in the various hotels, tourist residences, and guesthouses of the province of Ouarzazate, which is an increase of 19% compared to the same period of the previous year with only 137,542 arrivals.

According to the statistics of the Ministry of Tourism, French tourists come first with 39,577 arrivals, thus recording an increase of 2% compared to the same period of the previous year.

The strongest increase was recorded by arrivals from Poland with a jump of 103% (3,257 tourists).

The German and Spanish markets also experienced strong growth, respectively of 30% with 21,444 tourists and 76% with 12,772 arrivals.

The tourism sector in Ouarzazate also shows a jump of 24% in terms of overnight stays. The tourist establishments of the province accumulated 236,890 overnight stays during the first six months of the year, against 190,894 during the same period in 2013.

The occupancy rate of hotel establishments is also on an upward trend with a performance of 29%, against 21% a year earlier.
