The redevelopment work on the Mohammedia corniche will be launched at the end of the summer season, announced the equipment services of the city's prefecture.
This project, which will require a budget of 200 million DH, will mainly concern the Miramar Beach area over a distance of nearly one kilometre. The work should focus mainly on protection against the swell, ground surfacing, public lighting, green spaces, and street furniture.
It was emphasised that the general programme for this work was set up in consultation with the various stakeholders, sports associations, and external and security services, the goal being to give a facelift to this corniche.
An architectural competition for the selection of the plan that will be chosen for the realisation of this project has been launched, it was confided to the MAP, specifying that the deadline for submitting tenders has been set for 15 September.
This structuring project provides for the construction of control towers, a surveillance space with cameras, a police station, a civil protection centre, a clinic for first aid, as well as exits to access the beach.
It also consists of the installation of kiosks for the display of artisanal products, the construction of changing rooms equipped with showers, and a playground for children, in addition to sports fields and spaces reserved for water sports.
