The city of flowers, very lively at this time of year, is living from 1 to 21 August to the rhythm of the sixth edition of the Mohammedia Festival. This important event, organised on the occasion of the Throne and Youth festivals by the Association of Social, Cultural, and Sports Works of Mohammedia with the support of the prefecture, aims to highlight the city's assets. A city in effervescence whose ambition is to reposition itself as an essential hub for holidays and leisure. From the start of the event, last Friday in the presence of the governor, success was on the agenda. Indeed, the first artistic evenings organised on the beach stage drew thousands of people who vibrated to the rhythm of popular music. Thus, the organisers continued their proximity strategy, associating human and spiritual aspects, highlighting art, culture, sport, and music. And the least we can say is that they did not skimp on the means, which allowed the bar to be set even higher this year, since the programme of this sixth edition is punctuated by numerous activities. This new opus of the festival will take place between the centre beach stage and the theatre stage. Several artists, comedians, musicians, and singers have been selected for this event (Stati, Don Big, Chaba Maria, Khiari, Fahid, Cheb Bilal, Rachida Talal, Tihihit, Daoudia, Cheb Simou, Daoudi, Ziraoui, Senhaji, Tachinouit, Adil Lmiloudi, Jawaj, Moughit, Fettah, etc.). The sports programme planned at the centre beach includes Beach Soccer/Beach Volley competitions, while the cultural programme will be focused on the creation of wall murals on Hassan Boulevard II. As for Prince Moulay El Hassan Square, it will host a salon dedicated to income-generating activities. The square will also host caravans and medical actions (ophthalmology). Within the framework of the environmental programme, the Kasbah square will host a plant exhibition. Children are not left out since an animation space has been reserved for them at Sablettes beach. "A special effort has been made this year to ensure the event's sustainability, thanks to a programme that will leave a mark on people and that will leave footprints a little everywhere throughout Mohammedia, a city that asserts itself day by day," affirm the organisers. It is certain that this festival will have a positive impact at all levels and will consolidate the identity of Mohammedia. However, in order to guarantee the success of any similar event, it is imperative to involve the inhabitants and all the city's potential. Likewise, efforts must continue for the mastery of organisation, information, and communication, so that this event gains notoriety. Animation in all directions After editions that were hit-or-miss, or even unexplained eclipses during certain years, the Mohammedia Festival is back with a programme that favours diversity and youth. This festival is designed to create animation in all directions in the city, through artistic and sports distractions, as well as actions in the social and environmental fields. For the organisers, it is a matter of preserving, thanks to this event, the cultural, artistic, and environmental heritage of the city, creating spaces conducive to exchange and dialogue, and involving young people and confronting them with issues that affect society and the environment. The festival reserves time for theatre with at least fifteen performances that will be given at the Abderrahim Bouabid Theatre by local troupes, as well as five other plays planned within the Kasbah, which will also host Break Dance shows.
