Inauguration: New headquarters for the Regional Popular Bank in Laâyoune

It is in Laâyoune, the capital of the Southern provinces, that Mohamed Benchaâboun, Chairman and CEO of the Banque Centrale Populaire (BCP), inaugurated this new banking establishment which strengthens the network of this bank in the south of the Kingdom, in order to involve the bank more in the development process that the regions of the Kingdom are experiencing, and also to accompany the dynamic triggered by the new development model for the Southern provinces developed by the Economic, Social and Environmental Council. In his speech, Mr. Benchaâboun stressed that the inauguration of this new management adds to the bank's achievements in the south of the Kingdom, and shows the willingness displayed by this bank to adhere to the development project of this region desired by HM King Mohammed VI. He added that the bank is committed to participating in this project by making available to investors, young people, and small businesses all the facilities required to achieve their objectives with the diversification of products, the financing of investment, and the banking of the economy, and thus participate in the socio-economic growth of the Southern provinces. Established in this region since 1976, today the BCP captures a large part of the banking market in this region, with a rate of bank deposits that exceeds 40% of the market, and 68% in terms of loans. The bank has more than 90 thousand clients and 24 branches spread across the three Southern regions, namely Laâyoune-Boujdour-Sakia El-Hamra, Oued Eddahab-Lagouira, and Guelmim-Smara, which makes it the leading bank in this region. The inauguration ceremony took place in the presence of Mohamed Yahdid Bouchaâb, the Wali of the region, the presidents of the elected councils, local businessmen, and the bank's external partners. This new headquarters, located in the city centre, consists of 4 floors bringing together spaces entirely equipped with the latest technological equipment capable of facilitating contact and communication with the bank's clientele, and ensuring better support for businesses.
