Six suspected perpetrators of acts of vandalism that occurred in the city of Laayoune on 4 May were arrested on Thursday, according to a statement from the King's General Prosecutor at the Laayoune Court of Appeal.
These acts resulted in injuries among public order officers, two of whom are in a coma, caused damage to public and private property, and terrorised the population using 4x4 vehicles.
The suspects, as well as the evidence, will be presented to the judicial police to deepen the investigation under the supervision of the public prosecutor's office, before being referred to the courts after the completion of procedures within the legal time limits, the statement emphasises.
The investigation is ongoing to arrest all persons involved in these events and bring them to justice in accordance with the legal procedures in force.
