Built more than forty years ago, the executives' estate in Errachidia poses a real problem. Who are the beneficiaries of this administrative neighbourhood? What is their legal status?

Dedicated to housing foreign engineers and technicians participating in the construction of the Hassan Addakhil dam, this estate, known as Darmchan, includes 32 villas, 15 of which are occupied by FAR officers, and 25 small housing units, in addition to a café and a swimming pool.

Located 10 km from the Errachidia city centre, on the N13 road towards Meknès, this housing estate under high surveillance could cause unrest, according to a source from the rural commune of Elkheng, the owner of the estate. The occupants of the villas and small housing units have stopped paying their rent since 1998, for unknown reasons.

According to an administrative certificate, duly signed by the former governor of this province and the president of the commune, of which Libé has a copy, the tax collector was urged to recover the rent arrears, pending the final settlement of this abnormal situation which benefits officials who sometimes already receive administrative housing.

The illegal occupants of these dwellings are people who have no connection with the administration, the commune, the former president of the rural commune of M'daghra, a son of a notable, or even a high-ranking officer of the Civil Protection who already owns administrative housing adjacent to the Boutalamine mosque, the director of the ONEP, not to mention high-ranking officers of the Auxiliary Forces, among others.

The same source indicates that this estate has become a place of misconduct. An investigation must be opened to elucidate the ins and outs of this situation.
