Closing of the "Summer Camp" operation for children from shanty towns

The Governor of the city of El Jadida, Mouâad El Jamaï, and the Chairman of the Board of the Al Omrane holding, Badr Kanouni, presided over the closing ceremony of the "Summer Camp" operation organised for children from shanty towns in El Jadida on Monday, 24 August 2015.

The 2015 session of the summer camp organised in El Jadida by the Al Omrane holding for children from shanty towns officially ended on Monday, 24 August 2015. In this context, Badr Kanouni, Chairman of the Board of the Al Omrane holding, stressed that "the provision of educational excursions by Al Omrane for these children allows for the development of the childhood of those in these neighbourhoods." The programme for this edition, held in the city of El Jadida, included educational, recreational, and sporting activities, as well as educational hikes. This group of children (boys and girls) thus had the opportunity to make visits and outings to certain natural and historical sites in the region. These children also participated in the festivities marking the 52nd birthday of His Majesty King Mohammed VI through folklore dance performances during an unforgettable evening.

The Al Omrane Group, faithful to its corporate social responsibility values, improves the living conditions of children from hundreds of Moroccan families by offering them decent housing in a better living environment. The group also promotes the development of these children through several continuous actions throughout the year. Thus, for the summer season, Al Omrane sent nearly 1,200 children from shanty towns in various regions of Morocco to summer camps in several cities of the Kingdom, such as Essaouira and El Jadida. These children come from all the regions of Morocco where the Group has regional subsidiaries. This act is part of the civic actions aimed at its core target, namely social welfare. The "Summer Camp 2015" operation kicked off on 3 August and will conclude on 26 August 2015. It should be noted that the organisation of these camps was entrusted to the Education and Development Association.
