Between COP21 and COP22, the El Jadida Sea Forum will welcome many personalities involved in the sustainable development of the Sea and the Coast, in order to raise public awareness of essential issues.
The Sea Forum, an international meeting for the sustainable development of the Sea and the coast, will be held from 4 to 8 May in El Jadida, indicates a statement from the organisers.
With this 4th edition, the Sea Forum, which will bring together several Moroccan and international stakeholders, maintains its ambition to raise awareness among the general public about the richness and fragility of the marine environment through an international, varied, accessible, and free programme.
Participants are invited this year to an awareness-raising on the theme "The climate is changing. And the Sea?" through plenary sessions, workshops of national and international experts, and conferences, adds the same source.
On the programme of this event are also beach cleaning operations, artistic workshops, public readings, film screenings, cultural, sporting, fun, and educational activities, and activities for discovering the marine environment for the greatest pleasure of more than 3,000 children.
What is climate change? What is the impact of climate change on the oceans? What will happen if we do nothing? How to change our reflexes, our behaviours, our ways of thinking, our governance? What solutions can come from the Sea? constitute as many questions that will be debated during this meeting.
Between COP21 and COP22 which will be held in Marrakech in November 2016, the El Jadida Sea Forum makes the link between these two major events to underline the importance of the seas and oceans in the debate on climate change.
Halfway between these two global meetings and in order to benefit from the feedback of this first meeting, the Forum will welcome many personalities who took part in COP21 or are involved in the sustainable development of the Sea and the Coast.
