Ordinary session of the Dakhla Municipal Council

Ordinary session of the Dakhla Municipal Council

In its ordinary session for the month of February, the council studied and adopted unanimously the points on the agenda: study and adoption of the administrative account for the 2014 financial year, programming of the actual surplus of budget revenues for 2014, and three partnership agreements.

The actual surplus of the municipality's budget, which amounts to 59.5 million dirhams this year, has been allocated to various works of public interest, support for associations, contribution to the financing of partnership agreements, and other local activities.

Regarding the three partnership agreements that the council adopted, the first concerns the processing of salaries for civil servants and municipal agents, between the Public Treasury and the commune. The second concerns partnership and cooperation between the municipality of Dakhla and that of Tarifa in Spain. The third concerns the preservation of the flora and fauna of the region.

At the close of the proceedings, the president declared to the press that the council is committed to doing everything possible for the development of Dakhla. He indicated that the unanimous adoption of the points on the session's agenda constitutes the members' approval of management based on transparency and the democratic approach, through the participation of each of the members in a constructive debate. He also stressed that the council is working to develop a general vision to achieve sustainable development for the city of Dakhla.
