Since the launch of the campaign for the early legislative elections, Tariq Kabbage, the mayor of the city of Agadir, who leads the local USFP list in the Agadir Idaoutanane constituency, has been conducting his campaign on all fronts: on the ground, and through meetings and rallies.
And while new technologies were very little used during previous electoral consultations, this year, Arab Spring obliges, parties and candidates are making wide use of them. Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, one is spoilt for choice. TV channels on YouTube broadcast electoral programmes, interviews, reports, interventions on national channels, etc.
For Tariq Kabbage and his running mates, Mohammed Bajalat, Ijjou Arjdal, Fatima Amehri (note that the man-woman parity is scrupulously respected), nothing beats direct contact with the citizen. Thus, they have established a campaign schedule in order to be able to cover the entire territory of their constituency, which includes urban areas, foothills, and mountainous areas in rural settings.
But, never mind, Kabbage and his running mates, who have been joined by the party's candidates for the national list, Elbahi Saâdiya for women and Jawad Faraji for young people, are leading a real race against time to reach all areas: Tiqi, Aourir, Imouzzer, Akesri, Taghazout, Drarga, Taddart, Amskroud, ... and the territory of the Agadir commune (Tikouine, Bensergao, Lakhyame, Salam, Anza, Lakhyam, Ihchach, EL Houda, Talborjt, Dakhla, industrial district, Al Massira, Aghroud, Al Qods, Bouargagane, Founty...). In addition to field trips, meetings have taken place with hotelier associations, artisans, the CGEM... During these tours, a wide distribution of the party's electoral programme and the local and national lists, as well as electoral leaflets, is carried out by the numerous teams of volunteers and the Ittihadi youth in Agadir who support Tariq Kabbage and his comrades.
Everywhere, it is a message of hope and faith in the future that is delivered. But, to avoid others deciding in their place, all citizens registered on the electoral lists must go and vote next Friday. Because only massive participation can block the path to users of dirty money and all those who would seek to get elected by resorting to illicit practices.
