During the past year, domestic tourists were at the head of visitors to the Pearl of the South, recording an increase of 15.85% compared to the year 2014.
Some 884,848 tourists visited the various classified hotels, clubs, tourist residences, and guest houses in Agadir during the year 2015, against 904,271 a year earlier, representing a decline of 2.15%, according to figures from the Regional Tourism Council (CRT) of Agadir. Domestic tourists come first with 320,247 visitors, recording an increase of 15.85% in comparison with the previous year (277,423 tourists), according to data from the Agadir CRT. The French market, for its part, occupying second place in terms of tourist arrivals, recorded a decline of 18.98%, i.e., 145,372 tourists in 2015 against 179,437 in 2014, followed by the German market (+6.80%) with 86,767 tourists in 2015 against 81,241 the year before.
As for the Saudi market, it progressed by 31.36%, i.e., a total of 35,765 tourists in 2015, against 27,226 a year earlier, according to the same source, which notes a decline of 1.28% in British tourists, i.e., 79,204 visitors in 2015 against 80,227 in 2014.
The decline also slightly concerned the Polish market, which occupies fifth place in tourist arrivals in the city of Agadir, i.e., a decline of 19.29% (43,428 tourists in 2015 against 53,806 a year earlier).
Regarding tourist accommodation units, 4-star classified hotels come in first position with 309,142 tourists, followed by 5-star hotels (191,587 visitors) and classified tourist residences (156,133 tourists), according to the same source.
