The number of overnight stays recorded by tourists from Russia showed a spectacular increase of 300.7%, to reach 40,154 in June 2016, against 10,021 overnight stays during the same period of the previous year, according to statistics from the Regional Tourism Council (CRT) of Agadir. This good performance of the Russian market, which recorded a total of 4,792 arrivals last June, allowed it to position itself in third place in terms of overnight stays spent in Agadir, the CRT specifies. German tourists came first with a total of 42,137 overnight stays, followed by those from England (40,639) who recorded a decrease of 13.7% compared to June 2015. Regarding the number of overnight stays recorded by Moroccan tourists, it recorded a decrease of about 50% to reach 19,666 in June 2016, the CRT underlines, explaining this underperformance by the coincidence of this period with the month of Ramadan.

Regarding classified tourist accommodation establishments, tourist villages came at the top of the ranking with 85,555 overnight stays, followed by 4-star classified hotels (72,622) and then 5-star hotels (45,887), the same source notes.
