Tourism figures down in February

Some 56,088 tourists of different nationalities visited the various classified hotels, hotel residences and guesthouses of Agadir in February 2016, against 60,632 visitors during the same period in 2015, according to official figures. National tourists lead the way with 18,682 visitors, recording a slight increase of 0.37% in comparison with the month of February of the previous year (18,614 tourists), indicate data from the Agadir Regional Tourism Council.

The French market, occupying second place in terms of tourist arrivals, recorded a decline of 10.58%, i.e. 9,911 tourists in February 2016 against 11,084 during the same period in 2015, followed by the English market (+7.28%) with 5,927 tourists last February, against 5,525 tourists during the same month of 2015. The decline slightly affected the German market with 5,444 tourist arrivals last February against 6,003 arrivals in February 2015, a decline of 9.31%, notes the same source.
