The Hassan II-Mohammedia-Casablanca University and the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of Ben M’Sik are organising, from June 28 to July 4, the Casablanca International University Theatre Festival (Fituc), which is celebrating its 25th edition under the theme: "Rainbow: varied theatrical expressions and experiences".
Dedicated to students, this event is an opportunity for lovers of this art to share moments of pure theatrical pleasure, according to the dean of the Faculty of Arts Ben Msik and president of the festival, Mr. Kadouri.
"The Fituc arrives, against all odds, at its 25 years. It has lived through these years, glories and recessions... The Festival is a school for hundreds of young people, both Moroccan and foreign... It is the artistic memory of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of Ben M’Sik, the Hassan II Mohammadia-Casablanca University, as well as the city of Casablanca and Morocco," he emphasises.
The Fituc has therefore played for years the role of stimulator and reference for the creation of other festivals in Moroccan and foreign universities. The artistic atmosphere that accompanies this festival (organisation of the Casablanca International Video Art Festival (FIAV), setting up of artistic training workshops...), was at the origin of the creation of the Higher School of Applied Arts (ESAA) which will officially open its doors in September 2013, in Ben M’Sik, and which will certainly give birth to other artistic colours.
The festival in its silver edition pays tribute to the Moroccan University, in the hope that it will continue to meet challenges and stimulate creation and creativity.
The United States of America is the guest of honour for this edition. This choice is motivated by the relationship of friendship and fraternity between our two countries.
Besides the United States, this edition will see the participation of several troupes from Morocco and several countries such as: Germany, Chile, Hungary, France, Georgia, Mexico, Venezuela, Guinea, the United Arab Emirates, Algeria, and Serbia.
