Festivities on the occasion of the birthday of H.R.H. Moulay El Hassan

The time was for celebration, last Wednesday, at the headquarters of the Ben M'Sick prefecture. On the occasion of the eleventh birthday of H.R.H. Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, the delegation of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ben M'Sick-Moulay Rachid, in collaboration with the Ben M'Sick district prefecture, organised a ceremony punctuated by several artistic and educational events, workshops, meetings and exhibitions. The event saw the participation of about sixty children and adolescents from several associative structures and other Youth Centres, in the presence of a large audience composed of children and parents, civil society actors and local officials. “The birthday of H.R.H. Moulay El Hassan is a happy event on the occasion of which we mobilised, in collaboration with the delegation of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ben M'Sick, in order to jointly organise this ceremony which benefited both the children and young people supervised by neighbourhood associations benefiting from the National Initiative for Human Development programme, as well as local residents and their children who came to attend the various activities put in place. At our level, we were in charge of, among other things, the organisation and logistics aspects,” explains Najat Quabil, head of the press and documentation service at the Ben M'Sick district prefecture. The kick-off of the festivities was given by the playing of the national anthem and the raising of the Moroccan flag, in a climate imbued with patriotism and serenity. For the occasion, the audience present on site was able to watch a documentary broadcast for the occasion, retracing the life of the Crown Prince, since his birth, and covering all kinds of significant events he attended or presided over.

The rest of the programme took place in a good-natured atmosphere, through four dance shows performed by children of different ages. The choreography executed by the girls from the Abdeslam Bennani Centre for the safeguarding of childhood aroused a lot of emotion within the audience, in favour of the particular destiny of these little girls. The ceremony also included an exhibition of products from female youth, the fruit of specialised training for the benefit of young girls, supervised by local associations, in the fields of embroidery, textiles, computing, culinary art or even hairdressing. In parallel, the ceremony was marked by the awarding of diplomas to the young girls who completed their training cycle and who signed the exhibition organised that day. Finally, the kids participating in the event all gathered, in the joy and innocence that is their own, around a birthday cake with a particular symbolism.
