Casablanca: the administration of the "Ain Sebaa 1" prison denies the accusations of "torture to death of detainees" against a civil servant

Reacting in a clarification to the accusations conveyed by means of videos posted on Youtube, the prison administration affirms that all the accusations made by the former prisoner against the head of the security and discipline service are "unfounded", adding that this civil servant performs his duties in accordance with the rules provided for by the law governing penitentiary establishments, under the supervision of the prison director.

The ex-detainee with numerous antecedents is known for his aggressive behaviour towards staff and detainees, the same source stresses, adding that he committed, during his last incarceration, several infractions related to violence within the establishment.

The said detainee is a repeat offender sentenced several times, notably for fraud, theft, possession and consumption of narcotics, and carrying a weapon in circumstances threatening the safety of persons and property, the same source recalls. Given the gravity of the accusations contained in the aforementioned recordings and which damage the image of the penitentiary sector and the reputation of its staff, the establishment's management has decided to file a complaint with the competent judicial authorities against the ex-detainee in question.
