Casablanca – A Ramadan evening placed under the sign of conviviality and social integration brought together, on Thursday, the minor detainees of the Aïn Sebaâ Reform and Rehabilitation Center and their families around a collective Iftar.
Organized in partnership with the Hassania Association of Magistrates, the Local Council of Ulema of the Aïn Sebaâ-Hay Mohammadi prefecture, the NGO TIBU Africa, and the Casa Chabab association, this initiative aims to strengthen family ties and promote the social reintegration of young detainees.
"We are proud to host this Ramadan evening which brings together minor residents and their families around the same table for breaking the fast, illustrating the importance given by the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR) to strengthening family ties and social inclusion," emphasized the director of the Aïn Sebaâ Reform and Rehabilitation Center, Abdessalam Essahli.
In an address, he affirmed that "this initiative is part of the continuous efforts of the DGAPR aimed at implementing rehabilitation programs for the benefit of detainees. These actions help to mitigate the impact of incarceration and promote the social and family reintegration of the residents."
"This opening of penal institutions to their external environment, in collaboration with our partners, contributes to establishing values of tolerance, solidarity, and hope. It also participates in building a better future for these young people by promoting their social integration," he maintained.
On this occasion, several personalities from the world of sports, art, and media hosted football matches, thus sharing moments of conviviality with the center's residents.
"I am happy to be among these young people today and I sincerely hope that they will be able to improve their future and change their lives for the better," confided the artist Tarik Bereddad to the MAP microphone. "These meetings are an opportunity to remind everyone that everyone deserves a second chance and that the will to improve can transform life paths," he continued.
"We came today to share a moment of happiness with the young people of the Aïn Sebaâ Reform and Rehabilitation Center," declared, for his part, the actor Nabil Atif. "It is a human, artistic, and sporting meeting that aims to sow hope in their hearts," he stressed.
The event was enriched by an artistic exhibition highlighting the creative talents of the residents, as well as by performances of samaa and madih, adding a spiritual and emotional dimension to this meeting.
This evening was also marked by the awarding of prizes to the winners of the cultural, artistic, and sporting competitions organized within the penal institution on the occasion of the month of Ramadan, as well as by a tribute paid to several personalities.
