As part of the "A Bike for Her" project, and in collaboration with the French associations "Juste pour eux" and the Decathlon Foundation, the delegation of the Ministry of National Education in Tiznit recently organised a festive ceremony at the Moulay Rachid College in the Medina of Tiznit, in honour of the 64 winners out of the 90 second-year baccalaureate students from the Tiznit and Sidi Ifni delegations who obtained their diplomas this year, thus achieving a success rate of 70%. During this ceremony, Ms Marie José Lalard presented the provincial delegate of National Education in Tiznit with a medal of honour for the efforts made by the delegation and its commitment to the success of this educational project launched in 2006 through the distribution of 200 bicycles to students in 15 rural communes of the Tiznit province to encourage them to continue their secondary studies and combat school dropout in rural areas. Presided over by the governor of the province, in the presence of the president of the municipal council, local elected officials, the CEO and members of the Board of Directors of the Decathlon Foundation, and the president of the "Juste pour eux" Association, as well as representatives of UNESCO and the international "Elle" Foundation for the schooling of women in rural areas and several personalities, this educational celebration was hosted by the French comedian Yves Lecoq. Previously, the launch of the new higher education project concerning these winners, entitled "A Career for Her", took place.
It should be noted that this educational celebration was also marked by a bike tour through the main arteries of the city with the participation of students and project partners, and the organisation of workshops on the new project, supervised by Dr Omar Halli, President of the Ibn Zohr University of Agadir, the General Manager of IBM, and Rachid El Oufir, a university professor in Germany.
