Extraordinary session of the Tiznit Provincial Council: Elected officials give pride of place to employment and social issues

The Provincial Council (CP) of Tiznit recently held an extraordinary session at the provincial headquarters, in the presence of the governor and all the heads of the province's external services.

During this meeting, the elected officials proceeded to study the items on the agenda. Social issues and employment are high on the list of points addressed, which shows the CP's concern for improving the services offered in the Tiznit region. The Council thus debated the conclusion of a partnership agreement aimed at supporting and strengthening the supervision of social, educational, and sporting activities in the various establishments in the region, notably schools, student houses (Dar Talib and Dar Taliba), and women's centres. The goal is to improve the offer in terms of job opportunities to reduce unemployment by thus creating jobs for young graduates of the region registered with ANAPEC. This is to be done through the conclusion of an integration agreement with the latter. The Provincial Council subsequently approved by consensus this agreement with other partners such as the Tiznit municipality and the INDH.

In the same vein, concerning this time the social services inherent to schooling in rural areas and with the objective of facilitating access to school as well as fighting against school dropout, particularly among girls, the Council signed a partnership agreement with the Federation of Parents' Associations of Public and Private Education. This agreement aims to strengthen the school transport fleet by making school buses available to schools. A budget of one million dirhams has been allocated to this project.

The CP also approved another partnership agreement with the Ministry of Youth and Sports concerning the creation of several local socio-sporting centres in the Tiznit region. Under this partnership, the Council undertakes to assume the advance of part of the budget related to this project, notably that charged to certain rural communes unable to honour their shares for this financing.

And within the framework of a participatory approach aimed at strengthening the potential for territorial and economic attractiveness and competitiveness of the Tiznit region, the CP approved the modification of the financial structure of the partnership agreement linking it to the Urban Agency and the Regional Investment Centre. An agreement that concerns the carrying out of a study concerning the positioning and future orientation of the entire coastline falling under the province. The CP contributes 80% of the total cost of this study, estimated at 750,000 DH.

Thus, and to allow the various provincial services to have the necessary financial means and honour their commitments and other contractual obligations resulting from these co-signed partnership agreements, the Council approved a series of amendments relating to the provincial budget. Notably through the transfer of part of the credits allocated to the management heading and their reallocation to the equipment budget.
