The Atlas Hiking Club (CARP) and the local Tangarfa Association for Development organised, this weekend in Tinejdad (Errachidia province), a medical caravan for the benefit of the population of the village of Tighfarte.
This initiative, which allowed nearly 200 people to benefit from free consultations, was also an opportunity to distribute a significant quantity of medicines.
Technicians from the livestock service of the Regional Office for Agricultural Development of Tafilalet (ORMVAT) took part in this social and humanitarian action, through an antiparasitic treatment of 800 sheep.
Besides the acquisition of local products (date paste, couscous, handicraft products), the "Carpistes" also spent their stay with the locals, which had direct economic repercussions on the population.
For the president of the CARP, Ms. Wafae Belhabib, these economic contributions to local populations are among the club's objectives, adding that solidarity tourism can be a factor of sustainable development for rural communities.
Previously, the members of the CARP, consisting of university teachers, doctors, and actors from the private sector established in Rabat and Casablanca, discovered the magnificent oases of Ferkla through a hike.
The hike allowed participants to appreciate a natural environment rich in fauna and flora, notably at the Douar Gardmite where part of the film "Aâtach" (Thirst) by director Sâad Chraibi was filmed a few years ago.
"I was really impressed by the magnificent landscapes with unexpected proportions and colours drowned by the sun and dazzling in the rising and setting sun," declared Meryem, from Rabat, who took part in this hike.
Same emotion for Elisabeth, also from the capital, who did not hide her pleasure at being in contact with the inhabitants of the oases to "see up close their hospitality which goes straight to the heart".
