Tetouan: closing of the 6th edition of the Ajial meeting for the awareness capsule

Organised by the Ajial Centre for Training and Social Prevention in Tetouan, under the Rabita Mohammadia of Ulema, this awareness-raising event is part of the conclusion of the film training programme for the creation of an awareness capsule at the Ajial Centre, supervised by the director and film researcher, Mohamed Said Derdabi, with the coordination of Hafsa Bekkali.

The Grand Prix of this edition was awarded to the capsule “Amal” by Hanae El Alami, the Jury Prize was won by the capsule “Blurred Vision” by Diaa Eddine Masoudi, while the Public Prize went to the capsule “Merciful Hands” by Asaad El Mousaoui.

Some 12 awareness capsules competed for the first prize of this edition, under the theme “Values”, through which young people attempted to deliver a set of prevention and awareness messages.

The jury for this edition was composed of eminent personalities from the cinematic, associative and cultural scene in Morocco, notably film researcher Hamid Aidouni, artist-painter Bouabid Bouzaid and associative activist Jamila Ziyan.

In a statement to MAP, the Secretary General of the Rabita Mohammadia of Ulema, Ahmed Abbadi, indicated that the choice of the theme of “Values” stems from the observation that certain intrusive ideas are beginning to impact the perceptions of new generations, stressing the need to work towards protecting young people in order to preserve our identity, one of the main components of which remains values.

He evoked, in this sense, the High Royal orientations, calling for the consolidation of authentic Moroccan values, noting that we can feel in the capsules of this edition the impact of peer education, with young people influencing young people being the most effective means for awareness.

Regarding the theme of the next edition of the Ajial meeting for the awareness capsule, Mr. Abbadi indicated that work will be done on the theme of mental health, given the statistics in this area.

The Ajial Centre for Training and Social Prevention, which is behind these annual competitions, aims to lay the foundations for a strengthening educational approach to protect young people, support them and strengthen their skills and mechanisms to face all dangerous behaviours that affect them, particularly within the school environment and society in general.

This preventive training project also aims to raise awareness and understanding of all dangers and deviations, by relying on the artistic and aesthetic dimension to dissect dangerous practices, and to train young people interested in this path to become intellectuals for their peers in the future.

The work of the 6th edition of the Ajial meeting for the awareness capsule concluded on Saturday at the Spanish Cinema in Tetouan, with the announcement of the winners.
