His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, presides over the ceremony of allegiance in Tetouan

His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, accompanied by H.R.H. Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, H.R.H. Prince Moulay Rachid, and H.H. Prince Moulay Ismaïl, presided on Sunday afternoon at the Mechouar Square of the Royal Palace in Tetouan, the ceremony of allegiance in commemoration of the 17th anniversary of the Sovereign's accession to the Throne of His Glorious Ancestors.

At the beginning of this ceremony, Mohamed Hassad, Minister of the Interior, and the walis and governors of the wilayas, prefectures, and provinces of the Kingdom, as well as the walis and governors of the central administration of the ministry, pledged allegiance to the Commander of the Faithful. Subsequently, H.M. the King reviewed the delegations representing the various regions, prefectures, and provinces of the Kingdom who came to renew their allegiance to the Commander of the Faithful, may God preserve Him.

These are the representatives of the regions of:

• Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (Oued Eddahab and Aousserd).

• Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (Laâyoune, Boujdour, Tarfaya, and Smara).

• Guelmim-Oued Noun (Guelmim, Assa-Zag, Tan-Tan, Sidi Ifni).

• Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceïma (Tangier-Asilah, M'diq-Fnideq, Tetouan, Fahs-Anjra, Larache, Al Hoceïma, Chefchaouen, and Ouezzane).

• The Oriental (Oujda-Angad, Nador, Driouch, Jerada, Berkane, Taourirt, Guercif, and Figuig).

• Fez-Meknes (Fez, Meknes, El Hajeb, Ifrane, Moulay Yacoub, Sefrou, Boulemane, Taounate, and Taza).

• Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (Rabat, Salé, Skhirate-Témara, Kenitra, Khemisset, Sidi Kacem, and Sidi Slimane).

• Beni Mellal-Khénifra (Beni Mellal, Azilal, Fquih Bensaleh, Khénifra, and Khouribga).

• Casablanca-Settat (Casablanca, Casablanca-Anfa, Al Fida-Mers Soltane, Aïn Sbaâ-Al Hay Al Mohammadi, Hay Hassani, Aïn Chock, Sidi Bernoussi, Ben M’Sik, Moulay Rachid, Mohammedia, El Jadida, Nouaceur, Médiouna, Benslimane, Berrechid, Settat, and Sidi Bennour).

• Marrakech-Safi (Marrakech, Chichaoua, Al Haouz, El Kelâa des Sraghna, Essaouira, Rhamna, Safi, and Youssoufia).

• Drâa-Tafilalet (Errachidia, Ouarzazate, Midelt, Tinghir, and Zagora).

• Souss-Massa (Agadir Ida-Outanane, Inezgane Aït Melloul, Chtouka Aït Baha, Taroudant, Tiznit, and Tata).

This ceremony, which reflects the authenticity of the Moroccan people and their unwavering attachment to the Glorious Alaouite Throne, ended with a five-gun salute, while the Sovereign responded with his hands to the cheers of the representatives of the various regions of the Kingdom. The ceremony of allegiance, which crowns the festivities marking the 17th anniversary of the enthronement of H.M. King Mohammed VI, is an opportunity for the representatives of the twelve regions of the Kingdom to reiterate their attachment to the August Person of the Sovereign and to signify that the bond between the Throne and the People is deeply rooted in the history of this country and has always constituted the foundation of the Moroccan Nation and the supreme expression of its solidity and its durability.

Attending this ceremony were the Head of Government, the presidents of the two Houses of Parliament, the Advisors to H.M. the King, the members of the government, the High Commissioners, the presidents of constitutional bodies, the senior officers of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, the Director General of National Security and Director General of Territorial Surveillance, the Director General of Studies and Documentation, as well as other civilian and military personalities.
