This caravan, organized in partnership with the Provincial Delegation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection in Taourirt, aims to contribute to improving maternal and child access to healthcare services. It enables pregnant women, as well as those under 45, girls aged 15, and children from 0 to 5 years old, including newborns, to benefit from specialized medical services and examinations.
The medical caravan's services, organized in cooperation with the Tainaste commune, included 121 general medicine consultations, 87 pediatric consultations, 36 gynecological and obstetric consultations, and breast cancer screenings for 31 women, with two cases referred to the specialized center in the city of Taza.
In the same context, 30 cervical cancer screenings were performed with three cases referred to the Reproductive Health Center in Taza, 60 HIV screenings, 57 chronic disease screenings, and the review of vaccination records for 54 children.
Furthermore, a total of 388 women were sensitized to the importance of promoting healthy and balanced nutritional habits for pregnant women, encouraging breastfeeding—especially during the first six months of a child's life—as well as diversifying children's diets and continuing breastfeeding until they reach the age of two.
It is worth noting that this campaign, which mobilized a medical team consisting of 4 doctors and 10 nurses to ensure its success, comes within the framework of implementing the fourth program of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) related to "Promoting Human Capital for Future Generations," specifically the pillar concerning maternal and child health. It falls under the implementation of the partnership agreement signed between the National Initiative for Human Development and the Provincial Delegation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection in Taza.
