The Council of the urban commune of Taza has just allocated a budget of more than 10 million dirhams to finance the programme for buildings at risk of collapse. This programme, approved during the council's second meeting in May, concerns some 180 homes, 30 of which require demolition and 150 of which require rehabilitation.
The operation will be financed by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Policy and the General Directorate of Local Authorities to the tune of 4.5 million dirhams each, as well as the Communal Council with a contribution of around 1.5 million dirhams.
The programme for treating buildings at risk of collapse aims to improve the living conditions of residents and fight against social precariousness.
The restoration operation for buildings at risk of collapse will be supervised by a local monitoring committee and specialist architects who accompany the rehabilitation projects.
The programme also aims to improve living conditions in certain under-equipped districts, to develop the city's urban fabric, and to meet the expectations and aspirations of the residents.
