Al-Alam - Abdelaziz El Ayachi

Like many other cities and as an important and commendable step to combat and fight the phenomenon of doping in the various 12 regions of our homeland, north, south, east, and west, the national caravan "Sport without Doping" arrived in the city of Taourirt 44 (recently) as part of its tour in the Oriental region.

This good medical initiative, organized by the Moroccan Anti-Doping Agency under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, comes within the framework of the Kingdom's quest to consolidate the principles of clean sport and protect the health of athletes.

This caravan aims in its dimensions and goals to spread awareness about the dangers of doping on the health of athletes and its damage to the reputation of Moroccan sport, and the city of Taourirt was chosen for this tour for the sports and youth importance it represents in the region.

During this meeting, which was hosted by the animation hall at the Moulay Cherif Social Complex, in the presence of Badr Bousif, Governor of Taourirt Province, heads of elected councils, men of authority, heads of security and military services, and men of the press and media, various speakers, from the agency's staff, academic and sports actors from the Oriental region, the President of the Moroccan Sports Journalists, and Moulay Ahmed Belimam, Secretary General of the Moroccan Anti-Doping Agency, discussed ways to enhance awareness of the dangers of doping by professional and amateur athletes, warning that these stimulants take many forms, including what is promoted as nutritional supplements.

During this meeting, various aspects of the doping phenomenon were highlighted, and its health, social, and legal dangers were clarified.

Ms. Fatima Abouali, President of the Moroccan Anti-Doping Agency and President of the North African Regional Anti-Doping Organization, who holds a doctorate in medicine from Mohammed V University in Rabat and is a specialist in toxicology, pharmacology, and sports medicine, highlighted that the work of this institution is based primarily on serving athletes and national sport, especially regarding prevention and awareness of anti-doping.

She added through her explanations and clarifications that the agency is working hard to stop the spread of doping in the sports field in Morocco, by adopting proactive measures to prevent these substances from reaching Moroccan sports circles, and adopting scientific methods in the field of training athletes and accompanying them health-wise.

Fatima Abouali highlighted in her intervention that this caravan, which started on 17 June 2024 in the city of Laayoune in our precious Sahara, aims in its dimensions and goals to educate young people about the dangers of doping substances on health, adding that this national caravan aspires to contribute to preserving the health of citizens and achieving the goal of clean sport.
