In addition to the overwhelming signs of disorder in the alleys and streets of Taourirt, which consist of bumps and dips resulting from arbitrary paving, not to mention its marginalised neighbourhoods, which worsen after every rainfall, a wave of rabid dogs roaming the city streets has added new suffering for the province's residents, following the lack of development of these streets and the modernisation of their infrastructure, without any reaction from the local authorities.
Some observers of local affairs in Taourirt believe that the persistence of this imminent danger and the lack of intervention have left the residents living in constant fear, especially children who have become trapped in their homes, unable to go to their schools for fear of being attacked by stray dogs.
