In this regard, university professor and expert, Noureddine Belhaddad, reviewed during a seminar organised by the magazine "Sada Taounate" on the subject of "The Moroccan Sahara through the eyes of academics and journalists" the historical context of the Moroccan Sahara issue and the significant gains achieved by Morocco in strengthening its sovereignty over its Sahara.
In the same context, the academic praised the recognition by a group of countries, from all continents of the world, of the Moroccan nature of the Sahara and the relevance of the autonomy plan proposed by Morocco.
Mr. Belhaddad stressed the importance of educating and enlightening the younger generations about the history of the Moroccan Sahara and the historical facts associated with it, as well as the efforts of the Alaouite Kings in defending the national cause, highlighting in the same context the importance of including the national cause in school and university curricula.
For his part, the Director General and founder of "Sada Taounate" magazine, Driss El Wali, confirmed that the Kingdom's continuous diplomatic momentum, in defence of its national sovereignty and territorial integrity, has culminated in real diplomatic breakthroughs, manifested in particular by the broad support of countries from all corners of the world for the Moroccan Sahara, as well as through the international community's endorsement of the autonomy plan as a serious, fair, and credible solution to put an end to this long-standing conflict.
Mr. El Wali added that after the historic recognition by the United States of America of Morocco's full and complete sovereignty over its Sahara, the momentum of support for the Moroccan Sahara has continued with strong positions from several countries in Europe, Africa, Asia, and Latin America, noting the opening of many countries' consulates in the cities of Dakhla and Laayoune, thus expressing tangible support for the Moroccan Sahara.
For his part, researcher and journalist Lahbib Aydid noted the numerous gains achieved by Morocco in the Moroccan Sahara issue and its success in thwarting the manoeuvres of the opponents of the Kingdom's territorial integrity, also praising the significant developmental leap witnessed by the Kingdom's southern provinces, especially after the adoption of the new development model which is based on the contribution of the private sector and all actors in the development of these provinces.
The researcher also praised the great efforts made by Morocco to promote Hassani culture and strengthen its presence as an essential and important component of Moroccan culture and identity, also noting the numerous programmes aimed at preserving and safeguarding Hassani heritage.
In turn, journalist Driss Abou Chamail, a former journalist at the Maghreb Arabe Presse agency, highlighted the important role of media coverage of the developments and updates of the Moroccan Sahara issue and refuting the plans of the opponents of the Kingdom's territorial integrity.
In the same context, he praised the numerous gains achieved by the Moroccan Sahara issue thanks to the insightful vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the blessed efforts of the late King Hassan II, may God rest his soul.
As for the journalist at the Fez Regional Radio, Meriem El Maghari, she praised the unprecedented diplomatic gains achieved by the Kingdom on the Sahara issue, highlighting that the Kingdom's southern provinces are witnessing a comprehensive developmental renaissance that contributes to strengthening and enhancing Morocco's position and status, which would make the Kingdom a model for integration and development in Africa.
The organisation of this seminar comes to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the founding of "Sada Taounate" magazine, and also within the framework of the annual tradition it has followed since its birth on 15 March 1994.
The programme of this meeting included honouring a group of personalities who have provided abundant contributions and rendered distinguished services in their fields of specialisation.
