The result of a strategic partnership between the Moroccan company SG3H and the Portuguese group VALERIUS GROUP, an international player in the textile industry, Valerius Morocco aims to position itself as a benchmark player in garment manufacturing. The group is recognised for its expertise covering industrial manufacturing, design, research and development (R&D), as well as the marketing of textile products.
This project, representing a total investment of 102.72 million dirhams, provides for the creation of 1,640 direct and indirect jobs. It is part of the Industrial Investment Development Fund (FDII), through an agreement signed on July 27, 2021, between the company and the Moroccan State.
Integrated into the Fast-Fashion ecosystem, the new unit will strengthen Valerius Morocco's position in the manufacturing of women's and children's clothing, focusing on a "finished product" approach incorporating design and creativity.
"With its 227,460 jobs and 45.9 billion dirhams in export turnover, the textile sector plays a strategic role in our national economy. It is attracting more and more foreign investors, particularly Portuguese, who are drawn by the opportunities for co-production and the proximity that Morocco offers. The inauguration of the Valerius Morocco unit illustrates this dynamic and suggests promising prospects, particularly in sustainable areas such as the use of recycled fibres and ecological dyeing processes to reduce the carbon footprint," declared Minister Ryad Mezzour on this occasion.
