Salé in the spotlight: a colloquium highlights the archaeological treasures of a thousand-year-old city

The historical and archaeological heritage of Salé was the subject of a scientific colloquium, held on Wednesday, April 30 in Rabat, at the closing of the exhibition “Sala, Hidden Treasures of an Ancient Moroccan City”, hosted since October by the Bank Al-Maghrib Museum.
Organized as part of the cultural program accompanying the exhibition, the colloquium aimed to unveil to the public the often unknown dimensions of the history of Salé, through coins, rare archaeological objects, and carefully selected archives. Specialists presented scientific approaches tracing the evolution of this ancient city.
Among the speakers were Rachid Maalal, Director General of the Rabat Region Historical Heritage Society (RRPH), Mohamed Kbiri Alaoui, professor at the National Institute of Archaeology and Heritage Sciences, and Smahane Bouktab, head of numismatic studies at the museum.
