AS Salé (ASS) got the better of the newly promoted Municipal Club, with a score of 85 to 74, on Wednesday evening at the Fathallah Bouazzaoui hall in Salé, in the opening match of the first day (South pool) of the national basketball 1st division championship.

In the same group, Wydad Casablanca beat their neighbours Sport Plaza the previous day (69-66). FUS Rabat were exempt during this round. In the North group, whose matches took place last Saturday, Chabab Rif Al Hoceima won away from home against Moghreb Fès 92 to 89, while the newly promoted Mouloudia Oujda lost at home to Renaissance Berkane 59 to 68. Renaissance Tanger were left to rest.
