There are 376 households protesting against the revision of the cost of their apartments undertaken by the Regional Directorate of Taxes of Rabat-Salé. This revaluation would be explained, according to the complainants, by a possible fraud by two parties. As a result, the inhabitants have sent, on an individual basis, complaints to the registration office of the aforementioned Directorate. The families' reasons are clear. This project, which concerned the construction of approximately 2,500 apartments, was the subject of an agreement signed by the State, in the legal person of the Ministry of Finance and the Secretariat of State in charge of Housing and Urban Planning, on the one hand, and the Tazrwalt company on the other. This agreement stipulated, among other things, the construction of social housing. The laws relating to this area have meant that the government encourages, through incentive measures, citizens with limited incomes to acquire this type of housing, the inhabitants point out. The inhabitants are categorically opposed to this revaluation, which did not respect, according to them, the bases of the project in question, namely its social character benefiting modest people. "The revaluation was done on a commercial basis, which is at odds with the objectives of the project itself," can be read in one of the complaints sent to the Rabat-Salé Tax Directorate.
