"A mile in my shoes" wins the Grand Prix

The film "A mile in my shoes" by Saïd Khallaf was crowned at the closing of the second edition of the Saïdia Film Festival, by winning the Grand Prix of "the blue pearl", which rewards the best film in the feature film category. The best director award, meanwhile, was awarded to Mohammed Ismaïl for his film "Ihbat" (despair).

The Best Screenplay Award for this second edition was won by the feature film "Raja Bent El Mellah" by Abdelilah El Jaouhari. The Moroccan actor Amine Ennaji won the Best Actor Award for his role in the feature film "A mile in my shoes", while Amal Ayouch was awarded the Best Actress Award for her role in "The Midnight Orchestra" by director Jérôme Cohen-Olivar. The list of feature films that were in the running as part of the official competition of this edition, organised under the theme: "All for Moroccan creativity and a cinematic spectacle in the blue pearl", includes "Fida" by Driss Chouika, "The Midnight Orchestra" by Jérôme Cohen-Olivar, "Tears of Satan" by Hicham El Jebbari, "A mile in my shoes" by Saïd Khallaf, "Raja Bent El Mellah" by Abdelilah El Jaouhari and "Ihbat" (despair) by Mohammed Ismaïl. In the short film category, the "Orange" Prize for short film was awarded to the film "The Left Hand" by Fadil Chouika, that of best director went to Ghizlane Assif for her film "Whispers of Venus", while the Best Screenplay Prize was awarded to the film "Nidae Trang" by Hicham Regragui.

The best actor award was won by Mohammed Khouyi for his role in the film "The left hand", while that of best actress went to Sara Regragui for her role in the film "White Handkerchiefs" by Farid Regragui, who also received praise from the Festival jury. In this category, 7 short films were in the running, namely "Of water and blood" by Abdelilah El Jaouhari, "Tikchbila Tiwliwla" by Youssef Laalioui, "Nidae Trang" by Hicham Regragui, "White Handkerchiefs" by Farid Regragui, "The quay of destiny" by Amina Saadi, "Whispers of Venus" by Ghizlane Assif and "The left hand" by Fadil Chouika. This artistic event, initiated by the Al Amal Association for coexistence and development, from August 3 to 6, aimed to promote cinematic culture in the Oriental region, in particular in Saïdia and Berkane, to serve as a bridge between Moroccans from here and elsewhere and to invest in cinema as an effective communication tool in promoting the values of tolerance and coexistence between peoples. Organised with the support in particular of the Moroccan Cinematographic Centre, the Regional Council, the Saïdia Development Company (SDS), the provincial council of Berkane, the Provincial Tourism Council, and the two municipal councils of Saïdia and Berkane, this cultural and artistic event included in its programme conferences and meetings around various cultural and social issues.
