Commander of the Faithful inaugurates the "Hassan II" mosque in Saïdia

His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, may God assist Him, proceeded on Monday to the inauguration of the "Hassan II" mosque in Saïdia before performing the prayer of greeting the mosque there. The new mosque, with a total area of 6,555 m², has undergone reconstruction work requiring investments of around 25 million dirhams, financed by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs.

With a capacity of 2,500 worshippers, the Hassan II mosque includes two prayer halls, one for men and the other for women, accommodation for the Imam and another for the Muezzin, two multi-purpose rooms (learning the Holy Quran, fighting illiteracy), commercial premises and green spaces. The reconstruction of this mosque, according to authentic Moroccan architectural standards, stems from the particular attention paid by H.M. the King, Commander of the Faithful, to religious affairs and His constant concern to provide the Kingdom with mosques that combine functionality and aesthetics so that the community of believers can practise their worship in good conditions. The project is part of the State's policy regarding the construction of mosques within the framework of an important programme modulated according to the needs of the faithful, ensuring a harmonious distribution of places of worship throughout the different regions of the Kingdom.
