To the great surprise of the people of Safi, their polydisciplinary faculty has been excluded from the measures programmed in the short term by the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Executive Training with the aim of improving higher education, diversifying it and expanding its educational offer, while revising its legal framework and improving the scientific and technological research system.
A decision described as unfair by all the stakeholders who are calling for its revision in light of the achievements of the FPS of Safi, which houses legal, economic, social, literary and scientific courses open to thousands of students from the Doukkala-Abda region and the province of Essaouira.
The reference document for the programmed measures claims to have been based on a participatory approach that led to the adoption of several criteria and indicators on a technical, educational, human and financial level.
The projects it has programmed will concern the FPS of Nador, Taza, Tetouan, and Khouribga; which will benefit from a support process on an institutional, logistical and human level, while the FPS of Safi has simply been excluded from this list.
Contacted by "Libé", several professors and unionists of this Faculty declared themselves surprised by this decision which will deprive their establishment of the positive repercussions of these urgent measures. They call on the decision-makers to reverse the decision and to restructure the FPS into three specialised establishments: a Faculty of Legal, Economic and Political Sciences, another for Literature, and a third for Science and Technology.
