The company explained in a statement that this new direct air route Rabat-Dakhla will be operated starting from 15 January 2025, with a frequency of two flights per week (Wednesday and Friday).
The same source added that the flights will be scheduled departing from Rabat at 18:50 to arrive in Dakhla at 21:30, while return flights will depart from Dakhla at 22:10 to arrive in Rabat at 00:25.
This new direct air route is part of the development plan of Royal Air Maroc, for which the strengthening of domestic flights is one of its main axes.
Furthermore, the statement mentioned that the launch of this route falls within the context of a partnership concluded between Royal Air Maroc and the Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab region, with the aim of improving the air connectivity of this region known for its outstanding tourism potential, and contributing to its influence at the national and international level.
As for the price of the flight, it has been set by the two partners at 2000 dirhams round trip for economy class.
Quoting the statement, the Chairman and CEO of Royal Air Maroc, Hamid Addou, stated that "the launch of this air route will undoubtedly contribute to strengthening the air connectivity of Dakhla and all the southern provinces".
He added that Royal Air Maroc thus strengthens its role as a lever for economic and tourism development for the various regions of the Kingdom, and continues its efforts to facilitate the travel of Moroccans across the twelve regions of the Kingdom, by increasing direct flights and improving the passenger experience.
The partnership between Royal Air Maroc and the Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab region contributes to the growth of air connectivity between the cities of the north and south. The national company currently operates two daily flights connecting Casablanca and Dakhla.
Through the launch of the direct Rabat-Dakhla route, Royal Air Maroc continues its strategy to develop its domestic network, in line with the objectives of the program contract signed in July 2023 with the Moroccan government.
The statement concluded that this new and comprehensive approach of Royal Air Maroc aims to improve connectivity between the cities of the Kingdom, break the isolation of remote regions, and encourage domestic tourism.
