On Saturday, 20 April 2013, the Ba Hnini hall in Rabat hosted the closing ceremony of the second edition of the Regional Festival of Moroccan Song, initiated by the Rabat Tackadoum section of the Chouala Association for Education and Culture. It was an artistic moment marked by recognition, nostalgia, and hope. The audience was able to savour the magnificent voice of Hayat El Idrissi while discovering beautiful young Moroccan voices.
Hayat El Idrissi, with all the simplicity and modesty for which she is known, bowed before her admirers and the patrons who filled this tribute with love and warmth. She took the opportunity to recall her beginnings with the show "Mawahib", and her struggle to carve out a path in Moroccan song. For Hayat, this type of activity provides young talents with the spaces and conditions required to unveil their voices, given the difficulties that hinder any beginning. The icon of Moroccan song received the Rabat city portal from the hands of Mounir Chercki, a member of the national bureau of Chouala, before majestically performing "Sirt El Houb", "Ya Mohammed Saheb Chfaa", and "Ya Misbah El Houda".
Abdelhamid Labilta, Vice-President of the Chouala Association for Education and Culture, placed this festival in its associative context to recall the objectives of Chouala, which has always optimised the participation of young people. For Said El Azzouzi, director of the festival, the 700 young people who joined the qualifying phases are calling on the relevant departments on this occasion to work for the evolution of Moroccan song while ensuring young talents have the means to develop their artistic know-how. "We must reconcile Moroccan youth with their plural identity, which contains a diversity where Amazigh, Arab, African, Hassani, and Andalusian components coexist," added Said El Azzouzi.
The closing evening was enhanced by the participation of actor Abderrahim El Menyari and the performance of the Taha Orchestra of Moroccan Song, which accompanied the ten young voices that toured the repertoire of Moroccan song.
The festival jury awarded the first prize to Salma Ben Nadir from Temara, the second
to Khadija Bourhim from Salé, and the third prize to Abderrezack Ben Larbi from Rabat.
