Celebration of the International Day of Forests

The Rabat Zoological Garden is celebrating the International Day of Forests from 20 to 22 March through a multitude of activities for its visitors.

The programme for this initiative includes educational, painting, and drawing workshops, as well as a tree-planting campaign, specifies a press release from the Rabat Zoological Garden, received on Tuesday by MAP.

Thus, on 20 March, an educational workshop aimed at raising awareness of the importance of the role of trees will be organised for children, followed by a tree-planting campaign at the zoo.

On 21 and 22 March, the general public is invited to participate in open painting workshops on the theme of the environment. The canvases created during these workshops will be exhibited in the Zoological Garden's exhibition hall.

Through these activities, the Zoological Garden aims to highlight its mission of environmental education by anchoring the principles of respect and protection of natural resources in the general public, and more particularly in the younger generations.

Celebrated on 21 March each year, the International Day of Forests offers a platform to raise awareness of the importance of all types of forests and trees in general.
