Moroccans expelled from Algeria urged the government on Thursday in Rabat to take the necessary measures to ensure justice is served. During a press conference organised jointly by the Moroccan League for the Defence of Human Rights and the Association for the Defence of Moroccans Expelled from Algeria (ADMEA), they called for the use of all available diplomatic and legal means within the international community, rather than relying solely on bilateral dialogue mechanisms that are subject to political calculations.

They also insisted on the necessity of returning all the property of the Moroccans expelled from Algeria in 1975 and compensating them for the damage (material and moral) they have suffered.

The two associations also demanded explicit apologies from the Algerian state and the opening of the borders between the two countries, while confirming their mobilisation to ensure follow-up and support for this case.

The ADMEA and the Moroccan League for the Defence of Human Rights recalled that Algeria had expelled 45,000 Moroccans, including women, children, and the elderly, in inhumane conditions, violating their dignity and even forbidding them from taking their luggage, identity papers, and personal administrative documents.
