The emergency services of the Mohammed VI University Hospital Centre (CHU) of Oujda welcomed, during the year 2015, a total of 32,734 patients, including 5,115 children. The urgent medical aid service (SAMU) in the Oriental region carried out 2,589 interventions, including 37 with the help of a medicalised helicopter, indicates a press release from the Mohammed VI CHU, received by the MAP. As for the medical examination service under the four hospitals of the CHU, it carried out 50,307 examinations, while the number of hospitalisation days in the various departments of the centre reached 90,030 days.
According to the press release, published at the end of the board of directors of the Mohammed VI CHU, held recently, the radiology department carried out 26,469 examinations, while the central laboratory carried out 148,268 analyses. As for the Hassan II Oncology Centre, it provided care for 1,565 patients, specifies the press release, adding that the Hospital for Mental Health and Psychiatric Diseases took care of 8,158 patients originating from the provinces of the Oriental region. Over the same period, the number of members of the Medical Assistance Scheme who benefited from medical services reached 93,876, or 68% of the total number of patients taken care of by this hospital structure.
