A new social dialysis centre

A new social dialysis centre

The kick-off for the construction work of the "Bassma" Social Centre for health and dialysis was given last Saturday in the rural commune of Ahl Angad (Oujda-Angad prefecture). Requiring a total amount of 10 million dirhams, this charitable building, the work on which is expected to last 12 months, is part of the consecration of values of solidarity in health matters and the implementation of a proximity policy, particularly towards the most disadvantaged strata, indicates a press release from the "Bassma" Foundation for charitable works, the initiator of the project. The budget allocated to the creation of this centre, which will be built on an area of 5,000 m², is divided between construction costs (3 million dirhams), the development of the building's surroundings (1 million dirhams), the purchase of equipment (5 million dirhams) and the acquisition of the land (1 million dirhams).

The creation of this centre, which is also part of the efforts made to improve the health system in the region, comes in the wake of the Foundation's pioneering experience in terms of surgical intervention, multidisciplinary medical caravans, diagnostics, distribution of eyeglasses and free circumcision campaigns, the same source adds. The "Bassma" Foundation for social works of Oujda is an NGO whose mission is to create and strengthen partnership and cooperation relations between administrations, associations and various development organisations. It also aims to organise events in the cultural, scientific, artistic and sporting fields, just as it implements actions aimed at fighting epidemics, preventing diseases, promoting public health and providing structural and logistical services to schools, hospitals and mosques.
